Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) Chief Executive Sergio Marchionne is taking over as CEO of Ferrari, following Amedeo Felisa’s decision to retire.
As Ferrari’s chairman over the past two years, Marchionne has overseen its evolution from a niche brand that was part of FCA into an independent company. He believes the company’s value and profits will greatly expand now that it stands as its own entity. He was named CEO of Ferrari this week, as the automaker announced its most profitable quarter ever and reported a 15 percent increase in sales. “I was the one that pitched the Ferrari case on the road,” Marchionne said. “It’s not going to be a different case than the one that I presented to the capital markets at the end of last year. We are beginning, just now, to define the true potential on the passenger car side of what this house can actually deliver.” more...
