Utah Man Claims Tesla Model S Started On Its Own And Crashed Into Trailer

A Tesla Model S driver in Utah claims his car started up on its own and crashed into the back of a trailer.
Although the man says this happened without explanation, Tesla refutes that claim, saying the car’s logs indicate the Summon feature had been activated, which autonomously calls the car to (or from) the waiting driver without anyone behind the wheel. Tesla requires everyone using the Summon feature, which is currently in beta release, to stay near the vehicle to monitor its moves in order to stop it if it appears to not be detecting an object.
